Typically they are the same thing. Just load up on fiber and you should be good to go.

The answer is yes--and that means that NEITHER ONE is effective for weight loss.

Colon cleanse is basically just a laxative. You clean out what's in there, but the next day your body makes more waste. It doesn't do anything ELSE--it doesn't promote weight loss. It only makes you have a bowel movement faster, harder and more often until your colon is empty. Then, as soon as you eat, you will have more waste material in your colon.

Fiber supplements do the same things. They make your bowels work better, you have more and bigger and faster bowel movements.

If you want to lose weight, laxatives are not recommended. Any weight loss is VERY temporary--lasts only until you eat again--and they can cause dehydration. (Fiber supplements WON'T cause this.)

For real weight loss, eat fewer calories, less fat and sugar and more vegetables. Exercise more. It's really simple, and it doesn't cause problems.

Your colon doesn't need cleanning. Your colon does an exception job of cleaning itself. Colon cleanser products are either a big fiber supplement or something similar to clumping kitty litter to give you the impression that there was lots of stuff inside you that needed cleaning.

Fiber supplements are better. I think this whole colon cleansing craze is just a fad. Most experts say your body already does a good job in cleansing the body.

Eating more fiber keeps you regular and is good for your disgestive system, making a cleanse unnecessary to begin with. Plus many cleansers can dehydrate and strip your body of necessary nutrients. The water loss will make you lighter on the scale but it won't be the fat you are trying to lose. Also, I've never seen anywhere that is recommended that you should use cleansers for the long term whereas you'll always need fiber.

The key for losing weight is easy - consume less food and exercise more - the difficulties surface when we actually try to put that into practice! There are lots of opportunities to fail in the big wide world don't you think?! The sole diet which really showed results for me was wu-yi tea, it can be viewed in the resource box underneath, they have a handful of free trials left, it was reported in Reader's Digest and CNN. I lost 25 pounds, it really does work!
