Why is the BBC 's existence protected by law?

Postby cc_7up on Sat Oct 24, 2009 12:05 pm

No other TV company such as SKY,etc have this protection or the right to demand a license fee and with menaces if you don't pay it.

The BBC (imo) enjoys an arrogant immunity that should be removed so they are on a par with the other TV companys.

How can this be achieved?

Why is the BBC 's existence protected by law?

I'd regret the passing of the BBC. The likes of Sky are full of lies and controlled by very wicked people indeed. The same people control the right-wing newspapers that campaign for the BBC to be destroyed. These are enemies of democracy and no-one seems to notice. I haven't noticed the BBC campaigning for the end of News International even though that would be a good thing for humanity.

Why is the BBC 's existence protected by law?

The BBC, every 10 years, is given another 10 years
by the government of the day and we poor s*ds have
to pay up for the license fee. There is no appeal, short
of not having a TV, in which case every year you will
be hounded by the licensing authority asking if you
have got a TV.....

I suggest you read A social history of British broadcasting, Scannell & Cardiff, this will tell you all you need to know. We will always have a BBC - think about it! every government, regardless of their name will always keep the BBC, it has far more use to the government than to us - why do you think that the National TV station is taken over - around the world, whenever there is a coup?

The BBC has the right to exist, but it needs to be balanced. It is so far to the left it is ridiculous.
