Why don't we just vote about gay marriage?

Clearly, you either live in a state that hasn't put it on the ballot which I deem nearly impossible because it was on the ballot in Alabama a couple of years ago...or you just don't pay attention. We DO vote about gay marriage; the problem is people no longer accept majority rule; it is simply not taking no for an answer. So, this really just applies to your state-I mean, are you in Mississippi or something??

Aren't gay couples taxed? So why shouldn't they marry. it's the churches, I thought they except people not judge them. You are who you are.

Theirs to many people walking around thinking their GOD. That they should judge people on their life styles. Everyone know that in the bibile it says DON'T JUDGE, only GOD can. I think everyone should have the right to get married. At, the end of the day GOD will decide if you live your life right.

Just to clarify, not all religious people are against gay marriage. I am a very religious person but I am all for gay marriage. Gay people should be able to enjoy the benefits of marriage, too. It is not for others to decide what a person should do with their life. If somebody loves another person, gay or straight, then they should have the choice to decide for themselves whether they want to marry.

Also, I cannot stand it when people use the excuse "protect marriage" when they argue against gay marriage. First of all, how does another couple's marriage negatively affect other marriages? It doesn't. What really destroys marriages is when a spouse lies and cheats, straight or gay.

The sad thing is it has been voted on in many states and turned down in many. However, most on the internet say its okay, I wonder if there is a correlation to not having the internet and not supporting gay marriage.
