I hope nobody is offended by this. This is about religion. *that was a disclaimer* (: I think that "religion" is socially corrupt. I believe in God and in a....higher power? But "religion" is just not what it used to be. What God is--or WAS--is not what it is now. Let me know your input if you are on the same page (:

religion is a tool to control people. Nothing about today's christianity is anything like what Jesus talked about

i believe there is a higher power but i don't buy into the crap that the "church" tries to push on everybody and the bible is the greatest work of fiction ever written

Religion is many things to many people. While I am not a fan of "organized religion" I realize that if it's organized, more good can come from it IE church helping the people. St Vincent de Paul is a good example. This is a grass roots organization that is at each Catholic Church. Every penny goes to helping people. Salvation Army is another good example. Very few people realize that the Sally Ann is a relgion. The relief to the community that they provide is immeasurable! But my own relationship with God doesn't need a house/church to be valid. I can pray and chat with him from my own bed on Sunday mornings.....my Mom used to say "God doesn't care which phonebooth you use, as long as you call home now and then".

Agreed, religions are as bad as governments. Both are politically corrupt. It really is a shame, they do just as much harm as good whether they mean to or not. It's unfortunate but it usually comes down to specific individuals that ruin it and make bad names for these organizations.

It is not about religion, it is about having a RELATIONSHIP with God. That is the concept people aren't getting. It doesnt have to be all formal and have a huge organ to praise God. It's about connecting with him and having a relationship.

I know what you mean.
There are a lot of terrible crimes in the past and even now for the sake
of religion.
Moral values and Bible Standards are being ignored.
Real Love is on the verge of being endangered.
There is so much hypocrisy in religion or churches today.
But I have been raised in a religion that I believe is the most honorable.
I am one of Jehovah's Witnesses. You probably hear all kinds of false lies and rumors, but they aren't true.
We believe in Jesus Christ.
We go door-to-door in a Ministry and Bible Education work because Jesus told his true followers to do so. Matthew 24:14 and 28:19,20.
We are very strict of how we live our lives.
We always follow the instructions we find in the Bible.
We aren't perfect and we have made mistakes like everyone else.
But our Church removes those people who aren't serious Christians.
Only truly devoted people who love God are welcomed.
We accept anyone who is curious or has in an interest in God.
We can restore faith in God for those who ever lost it.
So many people are suffering and are seeing the worst kinds of situations, but there is a hope and this horrible world won't last forever.
We can share with you the real hopes and promises God provides in his Word the Bible. We are a warm and loving group. We are honest and loyal. We really love and support each other. If a Witness ever knocks on your door, I would seriously listen to what they have to say. I dare you to give them 5 minutes, and I promise you will really enjoy it.
We offer free home Bible discussions everytime we are at someone's door. They can last 5 min. or an 1hr long depending on what time suits a person best. We all volunteer our time, energy, and resources to help as many people as we can. From reading and studying the Bible we are learning the importance of being alert and serious about our love for God. We are all running out of time. If you have any questions find the local number of the Kingdom Hall in your own phone book. Someone will be happy to assist you in making your life meaningful and full of real success and happiness.
