Which is better:a built in wardrobe closet or a "movable" wardrobe closet?

Just curious about the answer.Have a really old closet my great great grandfather built(ma calls it a chiferobe) and it still works. It has scratches and broken molding but other then that all the drawers move in/out and both doors open/close (just needs the glass replaced).

NO! My ma would kill me if I sold it. just curious about which is better.

That is not just a sentimental piece, you have an antique on your hands. If the finish is totally worn, I would re-stain it a color that will suit the room you wish to use it and put a light coat of polyester on it to preserve what is left. Use it

I like both! If you already have a built in closet, you can use one for the out of season clothes, or those that you can't part with--like special team shirts, etc. And I would repair, not discard, a family heirloom.
