Here's the scoop, I have two years left to go get my bachelors, but I also have other options. My college is back East in a freezing town in RI. Currently I am on the west coast in SoCal where its nice and warm all the time. Mt friend who just purchased a 2 house 6 unit total building after working in Boston commuting from RI for 3 years is finally making 65k at his finance job. Right, he keeps advising me to go back to college, and finishing and then moving on to bigger and better things, getting a career and then buying properties and ie business. But I want to just save up money or get a loan and go straight into a business. But here's the thing in the mean time while the business is building from part time to full time, I still have my basic expenses I have to deal with. I am on unemployment right now, but I am also building a business and is just taking a while to get to where it needs to be so it can be self sustaining and I have plenty of accounts. My friends suggestion is to go back East ie RI, and finish my two years there and get my Entrepreneur Business bachelors, and then go out and start a business. But of course I would have to work and save my money to buy a business that's established cause basically they already have all the customers, I would just have to service them, with my business and employees. For current business owners out there is it better to finish college and get a degree in case your business goes under, to hold you through the hard times if like the Govt steals your business through zoning or litigation and you lose your business but you still have your degree, enabling you to still work and start over and not at minimum wage. This happened to a friend of mine, he started a business after a few years of saving his money but lost it cause he had a bad partner and he ended up screwing him over. So his advice to me is go back to college and then work on your business. I just want to know whats the better route. Thanks
