Vinyasa or "flow" style will keep you moving and burn calories. Especially sequences like the sun salutation.

yoga is not a good way to lose weight, it's more about strengthening your core muscles, increasing flexibility and improving balance.

to lose weight you need to do cardio workouts, like (i hate to say and do it) running. make sure you are also eating healthily, it really does make a difference. if you find you eat a lot, train yourself to eat more slowly, your body takes time to realise it's full and if you eat more slowly you will eat less and not over eat as your body will have time to realise it's full. this way you'll eat less but not feel hungry.

if you want to do yoga anyway to help lose weight, it's best to do it after you have expelled the sugar from your body (ie. you're tired) such as after a run or other physical activity (kayaking/skipping/etc).

The best form of yoga to lose weight is Diamond Dallas Page's YRG Workout. They added in other exercise movements that get you in your fat burning zone and tone your body. The best price I found for their DVD's is at www.GreatDrills.com and they also have the 20 minute workout online so you can try it first. I do it 4 times a week from my home without any other equipment. Good Luck
