If you're looking for a good, cheap bass boat, buy a jon boat and build it up. It's a great project. You can make a raised casting deck, add a trolling motor and GPS. The only thing you that will seperate it from a real bass boat is the 250 hp motor, which is totally unnecessary for a casual angler.

lucas there are boat specials at fishing expos and the smaller boat shops/ sales lots having a problem staying above water (so-to-speak) are marking everything down. I saw a brand new 16 foot procraft at a show for $6,000.00 single console with a 75 Horse Mariner ready to go, on a trailer, Cheapest today is gone before tomorrow so save your money and be ready when the kind is available. Try going on line and find where ever you live all the city, county, sheriff and police auctions as well as ebay. You'll be surprised what people are getting rid of because the kind of boat they have always wanted just came walking up and bit them.

I see decent bass boats all the time online used, with everything for less than like 5 or 6 thousand dollars.

Or you can do what I did. I got a 500 dollar pelican bass raider 8E. It's plastic, impossible to sink and actually cruises pretty fast with just the trolling motor. The down side it's only 8 feet long and kind of crowded with 2 people. It comes with two removable seats, but it's best for one person. Just be careful of wind. Don't be afraid to take it on big waters, it's not just for ponds. I take mine on waters up to 200 acres.

jack obviously never seen a skeeter iclass or a ranger Comanche. but like bobber said, bass tracker is cheap and reliable for the price

One that's free. Check on line for used boats through craigslist. There are a lot of ex-wives selling bass boats out there for next to nothing.
