urgent help please !! I think my puppy is gonna die !! T^T?

Hi , and good day. Well, it's me again.. and I have another question..

My dog, a dalmatian, Misty, gave birth to this cute puppy this week, I named her Peach & I was quite puzzled because she's only one.. I was so grateful Misty already gave birth after years of waiting.. I really wanna have a new puppy to play with, then there was Peach, my new joy..but one day,



I just came home from school when I checked out Misty & Peach, I was shocked I can't see Peach in Misty's cage, I looked for her everywhere.. then I saw her below the cage, bathing in her own mum's pee! She was whimpering because she's cold & wet & I think she's been there the time I was away, & I think she's hungry! I was so dismayed that I rushed Peach in the kitchen, then heated some water in the kettle & gave Peach a warm bath.. I don't know exactly what I did was right.. because actually, puppies that were bathed below 3 months die because of coldness & their immune system is still weak.. I experienced that "phenomena" already, that's why my former 1 month-old maltese, Basil, died because he accidentally fell in the pool, though I dried him up, he still died.. what would happen to my 4 day-old Peach when my 1 month-old Basil died though he's a lot more older!??

Yeah, I think it's my fault because Misty's cage is too small for her, especially this time she had a baby.. the floor of the cage have a small hole Peach can get through with.. that's why she fell down..

What should I do?? I don't wanna lost Peach.. I love her..

I can't take her to a vet because animal clinics here are always close, my dad is a vet, but he's away..

call your dad if he is a vet and go to the SPCA or shelter website as some have help centers that are open 24/7 also there are some places with 24/7 phoes call them and then do what ever the vet says

So many issues with this. I am literally speechless.

1) If you wanted a puppy, why did you not adopt instead of risking your dog's life?

I've never understood the logic of BYBs.

2) Did you take the dog to the vet after she gave birth to check that nothing else was in there? It is rare for a dog to just have one pup. For all you know she could have dead rotting puppies inside her causing infection. She NEEDS to go to the vet. If you don't take her and there is another puppy in there, she is going to die.

Never seen a dog with slowly disintegrating dead puppies inside her that is slowly becoming infested with maggots? You don't want to.

3) Why was your dog left for so long that she peed in her crate? A dog that has just given birth should not be left alone for long.

4) Giving a 4 day old pup a bath has likely to have shocked her system and is likely going to kill her. Her mother should be cleaning her at this age. The most you should be doing is wiping her with a damp cloth.

Get her warm - now. Put a towel in the tumble drier for a few minutes and wrap it round the pup. Rub her gently. If the mother is up to it, put her with her. If not, keep her close to yourself. Your body heat can help warm her. You could also fill a hot water bottle with warm water (not hot), wrap it in a towel and lay they pup next to it.

5) You need to take BOTH the pup and the dog to the vet.
Why would vets never be open? Don't be so ****ing stupid. That's an excuse and a half.

Get your sorry lame butt to the vet and quit making excuses. If it's a money problem, tough crap, this is your responsibility so find it. If you have money for the luxury of Internet access you have money for mandatory vet care.

I hope you realise it is considered animal abuse to not get a dog the vet care it needs. Both your dog and pup are at great risk.

ADD: While you're at the vet (and you will be if you're any decent human being), book your adult dog in for a spay as soon as her pup is weaned and book your pup in for a spay for 5/6 months time. Make sure it's before her first heat cycle.

I'm not being harsh to be mean but you seriously need a reality check.

I think you should do everything u can until she stops crying and keep an eye on her AT ALL TIMES!!!!!!!!!!!!! I luv puppies and i really hope she's ok! and gwd luck!

call your dad. for now if you have a heated blanket wrap him up in it. keep him warm. Thats really all you can do.. You van also take him to the emergency Vet. you really need to get your dig fixed to prevent this from happening again.

Dry the puppy. Use a hair blow dryer but on the lowest setting. Make sure u are NOT burning the dog!!!!
After he is completley dry keep him in a blanket and stay with him. Watch him until he acts normal and allow him to drink water!

Call your dad aswell if u can reach him to assist u further

i have to agree with sbl lover (hope i got your name right) this is wrong on so many levels.

i feel for you as you are obviously in distress, and i don't like to upset you but i think some things need to be said (or in this case written).

you dad is a vet, correct, where is he? get him to come home at once.

why was nobody with your dogs? ok you were at school, but surely one of your parents could have taken time off work to ensure the safety of the animals.

why were they in a cage? i think putting a new pup and its mother in cage an locking it is unfair, clearly she was there for too long, otherwise she would not have peed.

bathing the pup was wrong, yes ok you would have heated it up while it was in the water, but its too young for a bath and would have been freezing cold when it came out of the water.

why did you not learn from the last time?

why was she in a cage with a hole in it?

why is you dad, a vet, letting this happen?

now for some advice. put a small towel in the tumble dryer for a few minutes until its warm, wrap the pup in that and rub gently. the friction will dry the pup off and heat it up a little.

take your dog out of the cage, get a nice big duvet, get her to lie on it and place the pup next to her. as long as she is not distressed she will care for her baby.

phone every vet you can, if you are in the uk, i guarantee you there are emergency vets. get the vet to come out, check both dogs over and follow their advice.

also as has been said before its very unusual for dogs to have only one pup, there may be 3,4 or even more pups still inside misty, dying or already dead.
