Alright, so I've had a stress fracture in my left foot (second metatarsal, to be specific), and I've been wearing the air cast for about three weeks now. It rarely hurts anymore and was well on its way to being healed, I believe. Today, I had just gotten out of the shower and was walking across my apartment when all of a sudden, I heard a loud POP and then, excruciating pain. Exactly in the spot where my stress fracture was. I don't want to go to the ER and will visit my orthopaedic office on Monday, but in the meantime, I wanted some opinions. Most likely broken? There isn't really much swelling or anything, but I can't move my toes or really any other part of my foot without terrible pain, and it hurts constantly even when not being moved.
Sorry for long question.. thanks!
Forgot to mention I didn't have the boot on when this injury occurred.
