Should i quit from my job?My boss humilited me?

Postby KnightDeLaBarre on Thu Oct 22, 2009 6:47 pm

Today like 4 hours ago my boss insulted me in front of everybody in a professional meeting and i swear to God i could have killed the man because he exposed me for something he did wrong while i advised him before to not do! So when he came in a difficult position HE EXPOSED ME so he will look good and me while i was right I LOOKED LIKE A FOOL!SO EMBARASSING!

I was so mad i could have eat his tongue with my own teeth no joke,i could hurt him at the moment badly, but i kept it cool while i was burning inside and he smiled at me and told me that i am young and is better for me to get exposed and look like a fool than him WHO IS A FOOL!

I do not feel like seeing his ugly face again,i make good money there i have mad loans to pay, so i can't lquit now!

Should i look somewhere else and quit without note when i find something better?

You should start looking for another job, but don't quit your current job until you accept another offer. The job market is tight, so if you just quit without another job lined up, you could be unemployed for a while. Just hang in there until you find another job!

If you're unhappy, look for another job and quit when you find one. Remember though that you might run into someone who is an even bigger jerk at the new job.

If he does this type of thing regularly, it's definitely time to look. But if it was a one time thing, recognize him for the liar he is and don't trust him and watch your back, but probably not worth quitting over.

That's a bad uppercut from your boss I bet he knocked you down with his words. He should have been man enough to stand up and be counted out.A similar thing happened to me.I told my boss to stick his job and went home.It was on the way home i realised that i was self employed so turned the car around and drove back to apologise to myself.!

i am sorry but you don't need to look for another job, what you need to do is look for your balls.
i don't care if its my boss, if i said something and no one listen, its out of my hands, i done it before and i still do it. if they want to fire me i would take him down with me. there is no reason for some one to put me down at all. get a grip and don't let it happen again, you learn fro your mistakes. Next time he makes a mistake you should face him and tell him I TOLD YOU SO

Stay right where you are-look for another job first. It happens all the time baby- smile your way through it. Its much easier to get a job when you are already employed. You can't quit when things get you down- tomorrow is another day and you will feel better

If your boss is this big an as$h*le and would stoop so low, after you advised him about a bad decision he wanted to make, I'll bet $$$ that he has made bad decisions before and pinned it on others. I'd even wager that upper management already knows his M.O. So, don't be embarrassed for yourself, be embarrassed for him. Blow it off and don't quit your job if you enjoy what you do, make great money and have bills to pay. Your boss will get his just desserts...wait and see how this pans out. Stand tall and be yourself. My grandma had a cup that I chose as my one thing from her when she died, old and cracked as that cup is, it has a saying on it: "Don't let the bastards wear you down" and it's a wise saying, my friend. Stupid jerks in this world are too abundant to let just one phase you. Chin up, chest out, knight! =)

Mon Chevalier,

You have had lots of very good advice from all those before me.

I know it it too late to tell you to calm down, you have already
taken your anger out on the unfortunate wall. Never mind ...

In hind sight your saying from Voltaire seems to be quite apt:

"It is dangerous to be right in matters on which the established
authororities are wrong".

The important thing here is to remember that HE KNOWS
that he is wrong. The important question is to try to
figure out how he will act from now on. Will he feel
"obliged" or will he feel resentment because he is obliged
and continue to act badly?

Addition:

Blogbaba has said it all in a nutshell--I have given him a T. U.
