Should I go through with this or not?

Should I go through with this or not?

Postby NicholasHoult on Fri Oct 23, 2009 3:25 pm

I am 5'11 and I wan't to be talller. I am pondering with the idea of going through with limb lengthining surgery since my paretns have a lot of money and thier willing to pay for the operation. Think about it if I go through with the surgery I could be a height like 6ft3 or 6ft4. How awsome is that?

Do you think its a good idea or not? Or will the long term effects of the surgery not benefit my overall health and well being.

I would really appreciate some answers to my question. Thanks.

Damn I am 20 already. Are thier any other ways to grow taller??????????

5'11 is not short Nick! I would advise you not to do that.

You might not survive the operation dear. Or you could be crippled for life. All that for a few inches ? I don't think it's worth it dear...
5'11 is definitely not small...

Money is not an issue here. It's the medical risks involved to gain a few inches.

Why in the name of the Goddess would you want to be more than 5'11"??? It is healthier than 6'3" or 6'4" and considerably more attractive. If I were you I'd stick to the way I was built by nature.

Kind thoughts,

NO, I'm 6' 4'' and if I could I'd be your height. Being tall isn't all that great.
You probably won't grow, but be happy the way you are. Don't get a surgery.... really please don't.

Nic. Your parents might have a lot of money but I think it could be spent a lot better. You are 5ft 11. That is not small, That is not a bad height but to put you through pain and an operation to gain a few inches does not make much sense. I do not think it is a good idea. I do not think it will be beneficial to your health and well being. I am reminded of women who go through countless operations to make them look a bit more beautiful., 6ft 3 or 4 can be a bit overtall. you could bump your head. Accept yourself as you were created by God. I have

At 20 you have stopped growing and there is no way to start again. With a height of 5'11" you would have great difficulty in finding an orthopaedic surgeon willing to do it. There is an appreciably rate of complications with this type of surgery. Most doctors would consider it unethical in your case as the benefit would not outweigh the dangers. My professional opinion: don't even think about it.
