refusing to pay hairstylist...?

refusing to pay hairstylist...?

Postby Gisselle on Sat Oct 24, 2009 5:47 pm

If a hairstylist butchers your hair, burns it with hair-dye, and does sh*t you told them not to do... do we have the option not to pay or would that warrant her to phone the cops for time spent on my hair?

... and what if you don't agree with the price...?

$60 for half-an inch trim? Can we negotiate and tell them they're being unreasonable?

Price was said after haircut.

nope, caveat emptor, buyer beware. When you got your hair cut you had entered an agreement in which you had already understood and complied with the set price.

refusing to pay hairstylist...?

You don't have to pay for it! a hair stylist effed my hair up once and i didn't pay her! She was going to charge me $140 and she FRIED my hair. Just get very angry and ask to talk to her manager and complain that she ruined your hair! Also, don't pay for it but also say you want a different stylist at the salon to fix your hair for free because it is going to cost alot to go somehwere else and have them fix the mistake. They will give it to you all on the salon because they don't want a bad name for themselves.

star is correct. Tell her you hate your hair, never told her to do what she did, and your not paying unless its fixed. If she calls the cops, have before and after pics ready. Im sorry this happened :(
Good luck:)

Always ask how much the service going to be before they do anything to your head. If you don't agree with their prices, you have the option of not rendering their services. But if they honestly butcher your hair, demand to see the manager or owner of the salon. Tell them what you asked for and they should be able to see the obvious difference in what you ended up with. If possible tell them you want a different stylist to fix it, if that's not possible tell the manager you are refusing to pay and if they have a problem with it, they can speak to your lawyer. Get everyone's names before you leave. Take after photos and call a lawyer. They can't call the police, they would have to sue you in court. Theft of service is harder to prove since it's intangible. But a matter of just not liking a cut should be taken up with the manager, it depends on how bad to justify a walk-out. I've had to do it a few times and I was forced to sue once. But I will never pay for a service I didn't receive.
