Mystery white Dots on Ashley Furniture?! HELP?

Mystery white Dots on Ashley Furniture?! HELP?

Postby Erika on Fri Oct 23, 2009 4:15 am

I'm looking for a bed set. I found one I liked off craigslist and went to take a look at it this evening.

We she showed me her bed it looked very nice, good Quality, clean. But Then she pointed out these white dots ( about 20 of them, in a distinct pattern) on the end of the bed and right on Top of the dresser.

She said they were there to show that's it's authentic Ashley furniture. I've never heard of such a thing, I get the idea but it was really obvious and very clear.

So my question is..Is she right?!?!?! and Why would they put something so obvious right there in plain sight, I mean it's a black bed set and is totally notably! Thank you for your help!! :)

Mystery white Dots on Ashley Furniture?! HELP?

I tried to look this up for you, but I could not find anything at all on an authenticity stamp for Ashley Furniture.

White dots on a stain could be, however, a sign of damage -- especially if they were on the TOP of the dresser; sounds like she had a chemical abrasive drip on the furniture (think ammonia, bleach). Of course, I don't know what it actually looks like and she may be telling the truth. I'd say call Ashley furniture and ask them direct.

Mystery white Dots on Ashley Furniture?! HELP?

I buy Ashley furniture a lot (past and present) never heard of such thing. I have black furniture too..desk, large file cabinet..end tables. There's no such thing as authentication marks..Ashley Furniture wouldn't damage furniture and expect people to live with it.

Perhaps this is the way she received the furniture and justified the marks as "authentication" marks. Or maybe someone was joshing her and she believed them. *shrug*

I would assume that it is surface damage and ask yourself if it is something you can repair.
