My new husband said he's a stockbroker, but after the wedding, we've lived in his mom's basement. Is this odd?

Maybe he is saving for a home. Or he doesn't work or he is a lousy stockbroker? Ask him. You must of known this was going to happen before you got married. Unless he has a lot of debt. didn't you talk before you got married

Not really. Probably he wants to live cheaper for a while because he wants to buy a nice home for you both in a year or two, but I'd have thought he would have spoken about this sort of thing with you already. Have you not questioned why he wants to live in the same house as his mother?

I would ask him if I were you, marriage is about breaking loose from your parents and being your own person in your own home. You really need to talk to him about this. Newly married people seem to talk more about their expectations in life at the beginning of marriage it seems strange that you two have not.
