MANNY PACQUAIO EXPLOITED OR?

In advertising, no one exploits anyone. The talent/endorser gets paid proportionate to his/her value to the campaign, and Manny Pacquiao would be paid in the neighborhood of P10-15 million for a single commercial, shooting for only one day. Talent fees of the mother, the wife, and the kids are separately budgeted. So he could not have been exploited.
Consumers are not exploited either. They will not rush to the grocery to buy what he endorses. The role of advertising using a celebrity is to generate as much impact in the soonest possible time. Manny delivers this objective. Consumers are intelligent, and can discern. That is the lookout of manufacturers. So that when consumers try a celebrity-endorsed product for the first time, they should be satisfied. In advertising, we in fact say that a bad product will not be sustained even by using a parade of celebrities. If they don't like the product, they will stop buying.
