Is there a way to tell if something is off with my thyroid, other than going to the doctor?

Is there a way to tell if something is off with my thyroid, other than going to the doctor?

I eat healthy with the occasional treats. I do realize that too many treats can curb weight loss, so I try to be careful and I also take into account sugared drinks. I work out 4-5 times a week doing at least an hour of cardio, and weight training about 3 times a week. I've been doing this for about 2 years and have only lost 10 pounds. What gives? A friend gave up soda and quickly lost 20 pounds. I gave it up and lose 2 pounds. I gave up fried foods and lose less than 5 pounds. I've drastically cut back on sugar and still have only lost about 10 pounds, which I gain back super quickly if I cheat more than once a week with treats. So, I was wondering if something they be wrong with my thyroid or something else?
