Is Nair or wax best to use on my matted kitty?

uh yeah... they don't like it much mostly because of the smell but you can use a tourch to burn them off sometimes, but go really fast with it so you don't burn the kitty,

Wax is better.

But yes, some people here say that it will hurt your cat.

Like, whatever?! As long as it gets rid of the matting!

If you want to be "friendly to animals" *raises eyebrow*, use that hair removal cream.

You know the one that burns off all your hair? yeah, just lather it all over the cat.

Are you crazy? Out of control mats need to be cut away and it's very dangerous for the cat because the skin can be pulled so tight that you might cut the cat. Blood wounds for cats must be taken very seriously because they can easily die from infection. If the mats are really bad, take her to a VET that's willing to deal with the problem. That's what I'd do, if I couldn't handle it myself. I don't trust groomers with cats.

If she's matted that badly, you need to take her to the VET, so that they can sedate her and remove the matts.... while you're there, buy a brain.... good grief.

Neither of those should be used on a cat, ever. I can't even use Nair as it irritates my skin to no end. I'd imagine it would be worse for a kitten, especially on it's entire body. Waxing is extremely painful too (been there, done that) and again, on the cat's whole body that would just be insane. Put the cat in a crate and take her to a groomer. If she won't sit still for the groomer, take her to the vet. A last resort would be to have the vet anesthetize the cat and take care of the fur problem while she is under. Good luck.

Seriously?????
Use clippers or scissors to cut the chunks out. If you use these sort of chemical on your cats skin you'll end up doing more damage than good!
Keep grooming her to prevent it happening again whether she likes it or not!

No don't do either. If they are too severe to cut out yourself take her to a groomer, be tougher then the cat. She does not make choices for you. if you still refuse to take her to a vet or groomer try getting cat shampoo and bathing her to remove some of the dirt, and then try combing out the tangles, I don't recomend it but as a absolutly last resort baby shampoo should remove most tangles and brushing the shampoo through the fur should make it easier to get her umatted. Seriously though don't use nair it could result in the death of the cat and waxing would be almost worse,
