Is it wrong to hug a friend who is younger than me?

I dont have any romantic feelings for this friend. Were going to meet for the first time tonight at a football game im 20, she's 16, and i know ill like to hug because i hug everyone. However when i was 18 i was in a relationship with a 16 year old and eventually the dad was threatening me with prison and all of this so i broke it off. Would it be wrong to hug this girl since she is 16? Im worried what people will tthink since were going to be at a jam packed football game. Thanks

Yes Mike thats exactly why. I dont want it to be taken wrong due to previous problem with the kind of the same situation

If you feel that it could be taken wrong, then don't hug her. It's not out of your control, right?

It seems due to your previous experience with a girlfriend who happened to be a minor you understand the issue at hand. Even an innocent hug can be taken wrong, and most of all by HER.

Take care of it in a mature and reasonable way and you won't have any problems at all.

who cares if u give her a hug?
its not that big of a deal, people cant get mad at u for hugging her but obvi u have some feelings for her or else u wouldnt be posting this
or worrying about it so much
just be careful ur thinking about it a little too much

Of course not! I'm a 16 yr old girl and I get hugged all the time by people who are older than me. Maybe the other girl's dad was a bit over-protective. I don't think it's wrong either.

Ask yourself what is the underlying statement and motive you wanted to hug her badly. If so why you picked a football game and why is on preplanned intention on the act.

If you really like her, shouldn't you give her more then respects is not doing what the rest is doing.

And if you have predetermined to hatch a plan to do something that you would be worry about the setback, then don't do it. It all depend on which countries you in, as some countries are open to any hugging and some are not.

Omgaashh! Of course i think you could hug her!! I hug all my guy friends... and some of them r in college & im 14! lol I mean... if you don't have romantic feelings... then whats the harm?? Just like ppl hug their friends... HUG UR NEW FRIEND! LOL
