if i should get a surface piercing ?

i have them, they are so awesome and i get tons of compliments on it. there is not really a way to avoid rejection, but using neosporin (without pain relief) will help it heal properly and it is supposed to make it less likely to reject. also, avoiding scarring is easy, when you notice the piercing working its way out or it being constantly sore then it is probably time to get it taken out and then it wont scar as bad. scarring is inevitable because hip piercings are pierced with a hollow needle so it's like a 10 gauge (the bigger the bar, the less likely to reject, smaller bars work their way out of the skin just as a splinter would). mine healed within a week or two and one of them ended up bleeding a little bit later on the day that it was peirced. other than that i haven't had any problems except for getting caught on my pants when i sit down. i wouldn't get them too low or it could lead to being rejected faster because it would be constantly under the pressure of your pants.
the pain is bad, but only because they have to clamp the skin. it seriously hurts so much you don't even feel the needle going through. and also the second piercing always hurts more than the first.
but i suggest you get it, they are AWESOME :)
hope this helps!
