Assuming the 35 grand is after taxes, if you can live on 15 grand a year it is feasible.

you would then have to live off of 15000 a year... which....... can be done, but you will live VERY VERY poorly in this economy for awhile. Thats only 1250 a month to spend. So depending on where you live and your rent.. and your utilitys and expenses.. you could do it. just be prepared for a very very meager lifestyle until the time being is over.

Your expenses would need to be very low. You would need to cut out everything, and only pay rent/mortgage, insurance, utilities, groceries, clothing, and very basic car maintenance. You could not eat out, go to movies, or have cable, for example.

If you have any existing debt except a house payment, I doubt if you could do it.
