Hi
Many people struggle with body fat and would love to get rid of it. With so many different diets and plans available, how do you know what will actually work? There are diet pills, workout machines, crash diets, and more that promise to have you lean and muscular in no time. However, a time tested approach is the best route to take. Let's look seven tips that will help you lose body fat and keep it off.
1. Forget about fad diets. You have to be consistent if you're going to lose weight and keep it off. Yes, you might lose a few pounds on the latest fad diet. But then you'll gain it right back when you go on a two-day binge afterwards. This really isn't the way to go and you'll probably get discouraged.
2. Many people believe that in order to be healthy you should eat three large meals per day. This isn't exactly true. You need to eat, but you need to eat 4-6 smaller meals per day. This way, your metabolism will always be working. If you only eat once in awhile, your body will hold onto the fat that it needs. If you form the habit of eating small meals more frequently, your body will burn off what you eat, because it knows that more is on the way.
3. While this may sound like a broken record...you need to eat fruits and vegetables. There's still no getting around this. Fruits and vegetables have so many things that your body needs to run efficiently. Even if you plan on cheating on your diet with an unhealthy meal, you should load up on fruits and vegetables first. This way, it will limit the damaging effects that it has on your body.
4. Engage in strength training at least three times per week. When you build muscles, your body will be burning calories all the time. Muscles burn calories and this means that your fat will be burnt more quickly. Cardiovascular exercise can only do so much without good muscle tone.
5. On the other days that you don't do strength training, you should do interval training. This means that you should do something like an intense 30 second sprint followed by 60 seconds of walking. This will help your body burn fat immensely.
6. Drink water. This also might sound repetitive, but it is so critical to your health. Your body was made to function off of water. If you don't get enough water, you won't function properly and you won't lose weight effectively.
7. Get support from your social circle. When you tell others what you're doing it holds you accountable to do it. If you don't follow through, they'll give you a hard time and make you want to do it. If no one supports you in your decision to lose weight, you probably won't succeed.
