I want to be lean, but fit, any weight loss advice?

I want to be lean, but fit, any weight loss advice?

Postby Ajentha on Wed Jan 28, 2009 5:18 am

I'm 5'4 and about 160, I know that's much heavier than I should be. I've been gaining weight because I tend to eat when I'm bored, or sad. I honestly don't look like 160, but I suppose I am. I'd like to get a thin body, but still healthy because I've tried unhealthy ways, but I'd like to improve my health this time. I don't want to be muscular, I just want to be small. Any advice on routines, please? :D

Weight loss was a permanent drag for me until I tried out acai berry. I know they say that pills don't work, however they definitely worked for me, and they have been featured on CBS News too. There's a free trial on right now at http://telanecg.mldk.org, why not check it out , what's the worst that could happen?

Hi
Many people struggle with body fat and would love to get rid of it. With so many different diets and plans available, how do you know what will actually work? There are diet pills, workout machines, crash diets, and more that promise to have you lean and muscular in no time. However, a time tested approach is the best route to take. Let's look seven tips that will help you lose body fat and keep it off.

1. Forget about fad diets. You have to be consistent if you're going to lose weight and keep it off. Yes, you might lose a few pounds on the latest fad diet. But then you'll gain it right back when you go on a two-day binge afterwards. This really isn't the way to go and you'll probably get discouraged.

2. Many people believe that in order to be healthy you should eat three large meals per day. This isn't exactly true. You need to eat, but you need to eat 4-6 smaller meals per day. This way, your metabolism will always be working. If you only eat once in awhile, your body will hold onto the fat that it needs. If you form the habit of eating small meals more frequently, your body will burn off what you eat, because it knows that more is on the way.

3. While this may sound like a broken record...you need to eat fruits and vegetables. There's still no getting around this. Fruits and vegetables have so many things that your body needs to run efficiently. Even if you plan on cheating on your diet with an unhealthy meal, you should load up on fruits and vegetables first. This way, it will limit the damaging effects that it has on your body.

4. Engage in strength training at least three times per week. When you build muscles, your body will be burning calories all the time. Muscles burn calories and this means that your fat will be burnt more quickly. Cardiovascular exercise can only do so much without good muscle tone.

5. On the other days that you don't do strength training, you should do interval training. This means that you should do something like an intense 30 second sprint followed by 60 seconds of walking. This will help your body burn fat immensely.

6. Drink water. This also might sound repetitive, but it is so critical to your health. Your body was made to function off of water. If you don't get enough water, you won't function properly and you won't lose weight effectively.

7. Get support from your social circle. When you tell others what you're doing it holds you accountable to do it. If you don't follow through, they'll give you a hard time and make you want to do it. If no one supports you in your decision to lose weight, you probably won't succeed.

Don't aim for small aim for fit. I've been on my new diet for 1 and 1/2 weeks now. Low carb and absolutely no artificial sugar/crap.

Cut out ALL sodas. Diet sodas too.
Drink lots of water. It fills you up and flushes your system.
Eat more real meat and not burgers.
Fill up on vegetables. If you are hungry, EAT! Just eat vegetables.

Eat 3 solid meals with snacks in between. The key is to never be hungry!

Exercise...high intensity cardio has been proven for the best/fastest weight loss. Sprints for short distances, then repeat. You need to keep your heart rate high for ~20minutes.

Aside from cardio, lift weights. Muscle burns fat. You don't have to use creatine and every supplement, but whey protein would be excellent. On weight lifting days, isolate muscle groups. Do not forget legs.

its not simple to change your diet so do it slowly, Start by not trying to eat fried food that is a BIG deal. I got over it by replacing fried ckn and beef with grilled and roasted items instead, I began to go to the gym and I got into protein shakes try some they actually do feel like they fill u up, especially try them if you dont have time to eat. DUr work out its hard to get into the groove because it feels like a drag but if you want to loose waieght and stay how u want to you need to change! Dont go work out and stop dont change your diet and stop. Go all OUT! Go to the store buy yourself workout clothes, make a schedule of when your going to work out, find people to workout with.....Which workouts work or are the best? do what you can? simce your into fat loss I personally believe cardio will get you there super slow, do weights, squats, any lifting exercise.....and dont think youll get buff! you need to lean first and once your there youll see how easy is to not go any further....get interested look up exercises and calories but dont be psycho just get enough info to know whats the best ALTERNATIVE and plz dont think youhave to work out every day even two or three days a week will eventually get u where u want to be be .....good luck.......
