I get to train a new employee next week?

Postby AllHailKingKip on Fri Oct 23, 2009 11:12 pm

I have never trained anyone before, any tips?

Is this a good sign that my boss trust me to train a new employee, and has given me that duty, instead of letting one of my coworkers do it?

It is a really good sign that he trusts you. Congratulations. My advice to you is simple, "don't be a jerk". Treat the people with respect. They may not know as much as you do about this job, but they are still your equals in God's eye

I suggest tackling them & calling them your bitch. You know, just so they know who's boss?

Other than that, just be really patient with them. Keep their spirits up by telling them they're doing a great job, and let them know that you'll be telling the boss you're happy with their progress.
Constantly ask if the understand, and if they're not paying attention, make them repeat what you just said! That one always get them!

Good luck!

1. write a instructions of job involved. Give to the new employee.

2. You do the job. You explain the job. New guy watch and ask questions.

3. You watch correct any mistakes. New guy do the job.

4. maybe you want to explain some historical major problems.

5. Keep this in mind "you are helping him to help you"

6. update and change the instructions menu as time goes by. People alway comes and goes.
