Well I just went to a wedding where the maid of honor gave a speech and it was horrendous! She meant to be funny but didn?t carry if off very well and it ended up sounding very mean, no one laughed and I was a bit shocked. My advice is that if you want to use humor, use it well and in the right context. But the best thing you can do it relax, and speak from the heart. You can write it down if you want. Just reminisce about all the great times you have been through with your friend, the great person she is, how you have come to know her and her fiancé and their compatibility, love for each other and their great qualities. Make is as warm and as heart felt as you can, be genuine and if you want it can have hints of humor people appreciate that.
Good Luck
