Medication and exercise will help you alot, but have you also changed your diet?
You have to cut out salt. That means anything canned, cured, pickled. processed, packaged, frozen, pre-prepared, etc. That includes condiments. If you eat black licorice, stop. Don't add salt to your food. There's enough salt that occurs naturally and is in regular foods that you eat (like bread) to give you enough to live on.
No fast food, no restaurants. Eat everything fresh and made at home. Switch from salt to Mrs. Dash.
Start drinking a lot of water. If you smoke, quit. If you drink coffee or tea, cut back because caffeine raises blood pressure. That includes the caffeine in cola and other soft drinks. If you drink any alcohol, stop.
See if the above will bring down your blood pressure.
You're pretty young to have high BP. Is there an underlying medical condition?
