I just booked a domain name for my business. I want to hire a professional SEO Team but how can I educate myself before I go to them.. Is there any good resource with some basic guidelines?

It's funny. I was researching about the same topic for myself.. Just came across this article -

It's excellent list very basic points for someone like me (with less seo knowledge)
basically, the article says -

1. Find your targeted keywords
2. Set things write with title and meta tags
3. Good content on the website
4. Blog & analytics

Once you have done your keyword research, it is very important to incorporate the "keyword" in the URL of your domain name.

I have read so many books on the topic of SEO and I am an internet marketing manager. The best book I have read so far is eboot camp. I read it in one day, it's an easy and entertaining read. If you're looking for an online resource, Google's guide to SEO is a pdf that is very useful bot not as entertaining as eboot camp. There are also some good websites, searchengineland.com and seoMoz.org. I think you're making a great decision! Most business owners get taken to the cleaners by not having a basic understanding of SEO. Don't let some fancy firm pull the wool over your eyes, take a day to read a comprehensive beginners guide and get at least a basic understanding.
