How many miles to run during exercise?

All of the above answers are useless if you don't keep the following truths in mind:
A lot depends on how many calories you take in during the day and how many you burn while exercising. Losing weight is as simple as this: Take in fewer calories than you expend and you lose weight. Conversely, if you take in more calories than you expend, you gain weight. So, if you want to lose weight, make sure that you know how many calories running burns and how many calories you're eating each day. You get 2,000 free calories in this equation because that's an average of how many you burn just being alive. If you kept your calorie intake under 2,000, you'd probably lose weight without exercising at all. Depending on how fast you run, you could burn as many as 400 to 500 an hour. I'll let you do the math.
