How long will it take for my nails to grow with a life-long nail biting habit?

I'm trying not to bite my nails anymore. I've been biting my nails since I was little. It is addicting, but I have to stop! I do not want to use any nail polish stuff because it's just a waste of money, and I am not trying to be cheap. I really want to know how long it will take for my nails to grow to it's normal length, and it's almost January and I really want to get my phone.I know this may sound weird, but I promised myself a new high-techy phone if I grow out my nails. I bit my nails up until this year, I just completely even forgot about them. It's all in your head.
But anyways, it took me about 3 months for them to completely grow out and look decent. You just have to keep filing and putting nail hardener on them every week.

just stop cold turkey...this is embarrassing but up to like 4th-3rd grade I sucked my finger then I just stopped. idk

I know it seams weird but you could put nail polish on them. when you bite your nail it gives off a yucky taste after, but you should get the no bite stuff it helps u stop before you actually bite. If you put nail polish on it might let you think oh these look so pretty i don't want to bite them. Always have a nail file handy because if u end up braking a nail you wont have an excuse for biting off the broken nail.
