Growing your own is easy enough. You might want to study the curing of it though. I assume for rolling. Seed is available from many seed catalogs.
Most only carry White Burley though. I am sure some have other kinds I just have not looked.
As for a still, most people just doing enough for personal use start with a stainless steel pressure cooker and Copper tubing. There are plenty of instructions on the web . I don't have one but know somebody who makes about 2-3 gal./ month

Making the still is easy, but you must ensure that the temperature you run it at is correct or you will have methanol not booze.
