I am making a birthday cake and I just thought of having vanilla pudding in the middle of the cake. Has anyone tried that before? Is it good? do you think itll taste good!? I dont want to make a disgusting birthday cake.

It will be wonderful...When you layer the pudding between the cake layers, make about a 1 inch icing "wall" (a circle of icing about 1 inch high and wide all the way around the top edge of the cake) BEFORE adding the pudding. Then simply add the pudding on the inside of the circle. This will keep the pudding from oozing out of the space between the cake layers when you put the top layer on...

I dont know that you can cook pudding in the cake. The lava or molten cakes have the chocolate which is like a sauce. I dont think when you cook it the pudding would be thick enough.

Using pudding or apple sauce in the cake are both ways to make a great cake. Because it keeps the inside moist and fluffy.
