A keylogger is basically like a spy tool.
What that type of program does is it records everything thats typed at the keyboard. Your passwords can be stolen, credit card information, you name it, anything. It can also take screen shots so whoever is monitoring your internet activies can also view the stuff your looking at. Its a total invasion of privacy and it's illegal, especially if this is YOUR computer. I suggest you go out and buy yourself an Anti-virus/spyware scanner. I have norton anti-virus and it works great.
It should detect it and get rid of it. Best of luck to you!

You can install Outpost firewall, which offers the ability to block keyloggers from monitoring your keystrokes, as well as blocking them from sending the data to the internet. It is free, and probably the best free firewall I've found for windows.
