I don't know why killing them came up,but just to let you know,i love them, and would never harm them.I was trying to save some that got caught in a spiders web,but failed, they have to eat too,and i did'nt want to destroy his web

Just the season -- be glad for them, they eat mites and aphids which can damage your plants. Ladybugs are a very beneficial insect!

They come out this time of year, if you have any white paint on the joutside of your house they will just cover it up. Sometimes they stay all the way up till Christmas, every sunny day.

This time of the year right when the weather is ready to turn really cold, the ladybugs come from hibernation to breed, they have a really short life. The will get into your house, car, etc, This will last about 2 weeks then it is over, and they are harmless.

are you positive they are real lady bugs? about 5 million japanese beetles were dropped in norther mich, wisc and other places to combat a gypsy moth infestation. supposedly these beetles prey on the tent worms ( moth caterpillars) that devour leaves on trees. especially oak trees. this was done by the mich and wisc DNR (do nothing right lol) these things have spread to illinois and further. i'm positive that they can get anywhere just by hitching a ride on a car. also they reprodeuce faster than rabbits.
to tell if it one of these beetles look for a tiny one. a baby if you will. it will be colored much lighter than the rest. lady bugs do not look like this when they are young. they look the same as an adult.
if it is these beetles, good luck. they have no real predators and likely you will never get rid of them.

The sudden drop in temperature we had has caused them to seek shelter. Their internal warning systems have gone off, so they are looking for a place to winter over.
Though it may be somewhat annoying, they are harmless. They eat bad bugs, so please, don't kill them! Besides, if you do squash them they will stain and emit a smell. If you want them away from your domain, just pick them up and move them, or just wait a few days and they will move on.

They are there to hang for the winter. They can live on their fat.
Some people buy these to put in their gardens.

The way, I found, is to vacuum them into a clean bag, and then put a plastic bag over the opening and get them in that bag.

You can freeze them. When the time comes, you can give them to someone or let them go.

Warning- they stink. You would need something to deordorize your vacuum. Maybe baking soda.
