does yoga really get rid of cellulite?

First off *I am not a doctor* so take this as you would take casual advice from a friend...
It is my understanding that cellulite is nothing more than cells that are so inflamed with toxins and fat deposits (hence cell-ullite which means "cell" - "inflammation") that they push up against the skin and create a lumpy appearance (like cottage cheese). Any physical activity that gets your blood and lymphatic system flowing should flush the fat and toxins out of the cells and stop the inflammation (which reduces/gets rid of the cellulite).
However, just like weight and body type in general, cellulite is a genetic factor as well. This just means that some people are more prone to it than others, and that some people can rid themselves of it easily while others cannot. I've been physically active my whole life and never knew what cellulite really was until I went through about 6 or 8 months of relative inactivity. I noticed that over time I developed a good bit of cellulite even though I am only 22 and am technically underweight. As soon as I started drinking a lot of water on a daily basis and sticking to a cardio workout schedule the cellulite went away. It took about 1 or 2 months in my case for it to be completely gone.
So to answer your question directly (lol) yes, yoga CAN get rid of cellulite provided you do it regularly and have genetics on your side. Good luck!
