I think some matching is nice, but the whole uniform is plain to me.. what do you think?

I agree. I've already decided that when I eventually buy my own house it's going to be decorated in furniture from antique stores. I hate matching furniture and I hate the shabby quality and overall plainness of modern things.

When I was a kid, we had an aluminum Christmas tree with a full compliment of matching gold ornaments...The really cool thing is that underneath, my dad had fabricated a rotating base out of an old washing machine motor and put it in a plywood box...You could have moved a house with it! I was impressed. So, for myself I'd have to say that even if I entered the perfectly matched room, I'd soon be mucking it up with some element of human creative endeavor.
