Do fish get thirsty ?

Saltwater fish drink all the time, but I guess they aren't thirsty, because they always have water handy.
Freshwater fish never drink. Their problem is getting rid of all the extra water they absorb from their environment.

So fish don't get thirsty unless they're out of the water for some reason, but in that case most species would probably suffocate before they die from dehydration.
