I do not have diabetes now, but I am concerned I might get it, as so many in my family have it. I eat sugar and do not do anything unusual, but what signs can I be looking for PRIOR to actually getting diabetes? I want to read Sign's of it before I get it. Any Facts?

thank you amy lyn

One of the first noticeable signs is an increase in using the restroom. High sugars cause an increase in the need to urinate. Some people experience a change in their energy levels too. High sugar may make you feel tired. Watching your weight is one of the best ways to avoid getting type 2 diabetes. If you are concerned, maybe you should buy a diabetes test meter and check your sugar about once a week. First thing in the morning would be best. (before eating, after fasting all night, a normal sugar reading would be between 80 - 120)

Fear not, proclaim the Word that heals - if you are a believer then you are a new creation and by his stripes you are healed, He came to heal all sickness and disease and if you say to the mountain move throw yourself into the sea it will be done. for those who believe dwell on psalm 91. Bless you and rejoice in Him He will cover you and protect you. Read it and believe it. Praise the Lord for He is faithful and now is the time to trust in Him and you will be saved.

Hi.
You are lucky. Try not to get it.
There is a website that should give the the info you are looking for
and is owned by a person who has Type1 (the one where you have inject insulin), so they know what they are talking about.
Take peek at it. I did and it was a real benefit to me. http://ww.movingonwithdiabetes.com
You will find all the symptoms set out for you, then you'll know what to avoid.

The best thing is to exercise and keep your weight under control. Also make sure you get an annual check up including blood tests. A normal fasting blood glucose is 70 to 100, pre diabetes is 101-125 and diabetes is anything over 126. I did not have any of the classical symptoms of diabetes prior to being diagnosed.

Hi,

I was reading a book called Dr. Barnard's Program for Reversing Diabetes.

In the book, he talks about certain foods that can help you reduce medication, or even eleminate the medication in some people. You will probably need to read the book, then making suggestions to your realitives, you can provide suttle diet changes that can extend their lives.

Just adding cinnamon to oatmeal for breakfast will allow that food to be absorbed more slowly, leading to a more stable blood sugar level all day long.

There is a list of 10 things for each low blood sugar and high blood sugar levels. Low blood sugars includes sweating when it is not hot, feeling like you might faint, feeling dizzy.

High sugar levels can include wanting to fall asleep just after a large meal, frequent urination and being very thirsty.

The kidneys can help get rid of super high sugar levels by disposing of some of the excess sugars in the urine, causing the body to become very thirsty. In the 1800's they noticed that ants where attracted to some people's urine, and they had diabetes.

Good Luck!
