hello, can you please tell me if you can get diabetes from eating too much sugar? and when you take your sugar test w/diabetes what sugar are you checking ?





I eat way too much sugar espcially in my cofeee...Now Iam worried, please help..Iam going to cut it out a lot, but can you please tell me if you can get it by taking in too much sugar?

Unless a person has a true INSULIN problem like Type 1 diabetes the short answer is no. However high carb and sugar intake on a long term basis that causes significant weight gain can lead to Type II diabetes.

But does over indulgence cause diabetes? No as long as the insulin is working properly in ones body.

Have your fasting sugar levels checked if your worried.

No.

When you test for sugar, you are finding the concentration of glucose in your blood at that particular time. Meters are calibrated into different units. In the United States meters give readings in milliliters of glucose (sugar) per decaliter of blood. Incidentally, a decaliter is 10 liters, and I think a human body has far less than 10 liters of blood in it,
