Broken Collarbone Questions?

Postby Kent670 on Sat Oct 24, 2009 3:34 am

Collarbones only need about 3 weeks to heal. They are the fastest healing major bones in your body. It is 'pointying' most likely because it was not set properly. That will stay like that for good now, unfortunately. Mine is the same. It's not pretty but I have no problems with it.

Did you wear a sling for the last 3 weeks? If so you will need to do a few days of stretches to get your muscles back to full mobility. When they sit stationary for that long they have a tendency to lose their ability to stretch. Start easy and keep stretching up and out as far as you can, and then push it a little farther each time. Not too much, you don't want to pull a muscle.

Take it easy for at least 3 more weeks as well. If you are really concerned about it tho, see your doctor.
