Always feeling tired all the time, and I can't concentrate.?

Always feeling tired all the time, and I can't concentrate.?

Postby DiamondB on Sun Feb 08, 2009 6:04 am

I've been constantly feeling tired and fatigued on a daily basis over the past 2 years or so. When I saw my GP about this, he conducted a full blood exam, to rule out any underlying problems (eg; low thyroid), but it all came back normal.

At first, I put it down to stress. But i've been on holidays for the past 9 weeks and feel exactly the same.

I was put on Lexapro, and three months later I still don't feel any better. Though I do feel better about myself (elevated mood), it did nothing for my energy levels whatsoever.

I eat a healthy and nourishing diet, sleep at least 8 hours every night (usually 9 or 10), and work out at the gym 4 times per week.

In addition to this, I find it hard to focus and concentrate on things now. I have been suffering from these symptoms for at least a year, but it has only been over the last 6 months that it has all begun to intensify.

This is really having a negative impact on my education. I used to be an outstanding maths student, but my last report card listed my progress as 'acceptable'.

I do plenty of homework, and put in 110% wherever I can, but despite my best efforts, I can still feel the class getting ahead of me, and consequently, I fall further and further behind.

I have already scheduled another appointment with my doctor, which will go ahead in a few days time.

Meanwhile, I was hoping that some of you could post some comments or suggestions that might help me.

Thanks in advance

Matt--

Glad you are seeing your Dr. again - he may want to send you for a sleep study for apnea - and consider changing your meds -

Dr.s never really do a complete and full blood exam. They get the basics and a few extras based on their best hunches. That leaves a lot of room for a plethora of other ailments. Stay on your Dr., sounds like you are doing all the right things. Good Luck

I think you need to consider taking an herb called Rhodiola rosea. It is a very safe and effective herb which has been used for hundreds of years by people living in places like Iceland, Sweden, Siberia, etc. where it grows in the arctic cold. It is energizing, in a safe way, and it helps a great deal with mental clarity. There are several good brands, but they are all sold over the internet. Don't buy the cheap store brands of Rhodiola rosea. Stick with something like MIND BODY & SPIRIT or the Swedish products sold by www.proactivebio.com. They did the job for me.
