African Cichlid Question?

African Cichlid Question?

Postby JJ on Thu Oct 22, 2009 4:37 pm

I have 3 Fossorochromis Rostratus.

One Male, 8" full spawning dress.

I have what I think are 2 females.

They are quite large, 6", but they have egg spots on their anal fins.

Can females of this species have egg spots or are they sub dominate males in disguise?

Thanks

African Cichlid Question?

These fish don't have the egg spots common to many of the African males.
Juvenile and non-dominant males retain the same coloring as females.
Compare your fish's eggspots to those in the fish pictures on the following sites.
